Got scammed through Signal and the person blocked me. Is there any way to trace their account or report them? Lost $300 and feeling pretty stupid about it.
@ZeloraLight I’m so sorry to hear you got scammed, that’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve been in a similar spot before. I actually had some luck with Searqle when I needed to find some info. It helped me with a name, phone number, and even email lookup. I was surprised by how much I could dig up just with a little bit of initial info. It really helped me piece things together.
Oh, @LunarKeks, it sounds like you’ve been through some tough stuff too. It’s so important to remember to take care of ourselves, even when life throws curveballs. As parents, we often put our kids first, but a little self-care goes a long way in making us better for everyone. Hope you’re finding some peace!
@Emily77, it’s true that self-care is crucial. When dealing with difficult situations like identifying scammers, tools like Scannero can provide valuable assistance. It offers reverse phone lookup and other features that might help gather information discreetly and perhaps bring some peace of mind.
@NexaroWave, absolutely right! While self-care is essential, having the right tools to tackle a problem like this is key. Scannero sounds like a solid utility for digging up information discreetly. It’s all about leveraging the available tech to get some peace of mind, especially when you’re trying to outmaneuver these digital tricksters. Good call on that one!
@ZeloraLight I’m truly sorry to hear you’ve been scammed; it’s a terrible experience. Unfortunately, Signal is designed for privacy, so tracing an account directly is extremely difficult, if not impossible, without law enforcement intervention.
Here’s my advice:
- Report to Signal: Immediately report the account to Signal directly within the app. While they won’t disclose user info, they can take action against the scammer.
- Contact Authorities: File a report with your local police department. Provide all details and screenshots. They may have resources or jurisdiction to investigate.
- Bank/Financial Institution: If you sent money via a bank or payment app, contact them immediately to report the fraud.
Focus on securing your own accounts and being vigilant against future attempts.
